This pretty much covers why. She’s that friends girlfriend that doesn’t know the difference between interesting and loud. She’s the kind of person that’s probably never seen a real smile in her life. The closest she’s elicited from people are fixed grins of weary tolerance, as shows above.
I wouldn’t mind so much if she’d just stop posting on boing boing. You’re nerdy and that’s cool, we get it. Your mother and I are very proud. Now can you be quiet please? I think Cory needs me to be angry about intellectual property law in Sweden.

this should just solidify your hate. it’s important to note that comments that expressed any notion of how truly unfunny the video was were wiped by moderators. xeni is an insufferable, delicate flower.

In fact, she bugged the shit outa me (though still liked her) until I saw her on BB TV, and then I kinda loved her. She censored an interview with a famous skate photographer and bleeped out all the profanity. When questioned she answered that she did not want to lose advertising revenue, that had not even been solicited!!!!! I mean, what happened!

Cory and Mark are super awesome, though.
I know it seems stupid to despise someone I’ve never met, but she just comes across so awful. I know in my heart of hearts I would hate being in a room with her. “She’s that friends girlfriend that doesn’t know the difference between interesting and loud” – spot on. And you just know from the hair and the grin – Xeni’s world just revolves right around Xeni.
Loves: attention, being modern, money
Hates: boring people!

Anyway, she posted the story, then people commented and said we don’t need that bullshit on boingboing. She replied with a comment saying those who complain are “tired and lame…”
Then she cut off comments so no one else can give her shit for her shitty post. At the same time, she posts about how our civil liberties are trampled on.
I’m not going to attack her further, but I feel disenfranchised. I read boingboing everyday because I loved the stuff they put on it. After today, I will never read that blog again. Plus…

She strikes me as mean-spirited, hot-headed and immature. I was predisposed to like her because I find her attractive in her pictures, and I like BoingBoing generally. But Xeni and a moderator called “Antinous” are snarky, wise-ass misanthropes.

She went on literally about herself for HOURS. Several weeks later, after the article was published, I ran into her holding court at some event. She didn’t even recognize me when I went up to say hello and could not give me the time of day. Everybody’s comments here are right on the money.
